Since the Wilcox County Community has been so generous to our schools, PASS students decided to PAY IT FORWARD. During our summer session of PASS at WCES, we talked about how we could do something nice for others in our community. In art, students came up with the idea of making cards for two nursing homes and two assisted living centers in Wilcox County, River Willows Nursing Center and Shady Pines in Abbeville, Northside Villa in Rochelle, and Crossview Healthcare in Pineview. Students wrote a message in each card that they created. Cards had fishing scenes, watermelons, swimming, flowers, trees, birds and other summer sights. After calling those homes and asking for the count of women and men, students divided the cards to fit the genders. We also sent each resident a sucker with the card. The cards were delivered by parents who were connected to these homes. WCES PASS students worked diligently to create about 200 cards. Paying it Forward blessed our students by knowing that they actively showed people who PASS kids cared.
