During the 2011-2012 school year, Wilcox County High School received a three-year School Improvement Grant (SIG). This SIG is used for Title I, Needs Improvements Schools to help them meet annual student achievement goals. As a result of receiving this grant, WCHS has been able to provide students with modern instructional learning tools and resources. The latest tools are 120 Nook Simple Touch eReaders for the English Language Arts (ELA) classes to use. These Nooks are pre-loaded with most of the novels students will be reading during their entire high school career. There are also 60 Nook Color eReaders in the WCHS media center that are available for high school students to checkout.
WCHS is excited about these new tools and resources! We hope they bring about enrichment for all of our students. If you have any questions or concerns about SIG, please do not hesitate to contact the school at (229) 365-7231.
